Paul, Nate and Laura c. 1993
Gullible's Travels
Chefelf
by: Chefelf

In the summer of 1993 Paul, Nate and Laura went to England. We'd like to say that after three weeks we returned to the United States with a better understanding of English life and culture. Unfortunately we were young and stupid so all we came back with was stories about hanging around the place we stayed watching "Telly". Also we went to see Jurrasic Park... great flick!

Nate kept a journal of his travels in Great Britain... Paul and Laura kept similar books but filled them with silly drawings. Presented here for the first time is Chef "Nate" Elf's English Travel Journals.... enjoy.

[The words in red are the words of Present Day Nate. You don't think that's too vain do you?]

Day 11
Monday August 2, 1993

1:26 A.M.
Paul turns 17 today. He just said, "Really?" We watched a movie today starring Sean Connery as an adulterous carpet cleaning poet. They should make more movies like that.

1:53 P.M.
We woke up early today to go shopping in scenic downtown Reading. I went into a guitar store and played for a little bit then we had lunch at Burger King. Already we are back at the lovely Bulmershe University.

3:19 P.M.
Caught the 'ol 65 back into Reading and now we're on the Woodley 63 home. We just bought some lime candies, some books and a really pathetic magazine so that we'll have models to draw pictures of when we're bored. We still haven't got the nerve to buy anything at the Sock Shop but we've still got 12 days left.

8:14 P.M.
They started the PIZZA!!! I had SMARTIES!!!

[I don't know what any of that is supposed to mean other than the obvious that is. I'm not sure that that last event was exactly "journal worthy."]

10:48 P.M.
Watched a great episode of KYTV. Paul had a good birthday. Now he is the ripe old age of 17.

[Today's grade: F+, Sean Connery Movie? Burger King? Guitar Store? KYTV!!! C'mon guys... what are you doing to me?]

End of Day 11
Next time: Dinner at Garfunkel's (not as cool as it sounds) and we meet the Queen!
