In the summer of 1993 Paul, Nate and Laura went to England. We'd like to say that after three weeks we returned to the United States with a better understanding of English life and culture. Unfortunately we were young and stupid so all we came back with was stories about hanging around the place we stayed watching "Telly". Also we went to see Jurrasic Park... great flick!
Nate kept a journal of his travels in Great Britain... Paul and Laura kept similar books but filled them with silly drawings. Presented here for the first time is Chef "Nate" Elf's English Travel Journals.... enjoy.

Friday August 13, 1993
What a rather fast-paced vacation. Tomorrow we'll be heading home. After I sleep and wake up in the morning we'll be going to Reading one last time. The vacation is over but I had a good time. It'll be good to return home and sleep in my own bed and use my computer and play guitar. I actually can't wait for a shower with water pressure, that'll be cool.
Just watched a Jackie Mason Show. It was great. I guess we should get to bed.
Woke up, got out of bed, dragged a cat across my room. We're going someplace today, but I dont' know where.
[It's just like that song except different!]
Just watched a skateboarding show. Very interesting. We just met a friendly Canadian woman and she gave us a Bulmershe College T-Shirt. Nice!
We got into a small little car accident with a really obnoxious woman. I hope everything is alright. We hit her car but she was going about 60 MPH.
[I seem to remember this woman was going way over the speed limit around a blind turn when we hit her. The first thing she did when she got out of the car was yell at us about how she had a child in the backseat. As if we could see this and assess this as 60 MPH. Then she started talking and laughing with some random guy on the street in Italian.]
We got home. I had some delicious Indian food. After the accident we went to the car rental place and they gave us another car! What morons! Don't they know that we just got into an accident? After that we took the new car to an herb farm. Then we went grocery shopping.
Finished packing. Eating popcorn and talking with Paul about all the wonderful people that we'll get to see back home. We hope we get a window seat on the plane but we probably won't.
[Today's grade: C+, an average effort.]
End of Day 22
Next time: Our journey home.
