Paul, Nate and Laura c. 1993
Gullible's Travels
Chefelf
by: Chefelf

In the summer of 1993 Paul, Nate and Laura went to England. We'd like to say that after three weeks we returned to the United States with a better understanding of English life and culture. Unfortunately we were young and stupid so all we came back with was stories about hanging around the place we stayed watching "Telly". Also we went to see Jurrasic Park... great flick!

Nate kept a journal of his travels in Great Britain... Paul and Laura kept similar books but filled them with silly drawings. Presented here for the first time is Chef "Nate" Elf's English Travel Journals.... enjoy.

[The words in red are the words of Present Day Nate. You don't think that's too vain do you?]

Day 19
Tuesday August 10, 1993

9:27 A.M.
Put all of my stuff in a bag. We're going somewhere by car again. Paul and I are pantless. The cleaning woman was doing the wash and Trevor had to lock up so all of our stuff isn't washed. I don't have any dry underwear either. Paul and I are just sitting in our respective beds under the covers. I hope that someone is doing something about this because this is no good.

7:32 P.M.
Misery. Anguish. Self-Pity. I'm so tired that you could stick a banana to my chest... WITHOUT ADHESIVE! We're going to bed now. The Roman Ruins weren't that impressive. Just a field actually. A nice field, but just a field. I guess they were pretty ruined.

[In case you were wondering, that part about the banana was zany!]

9:12 P.M.
Laura must be miserably bored because she pretended to give her plastic dinosaur a bath in the sink.

9:44 P.M.
I guess we're going to Wales tomorrow. We're going on steep scary roads. Actually I'm not so crazy about that.

11:07 P.M.
We just watched about as much of Weird Science as any of us could stomach. I am really sick of Telly. I wish Telly would go away.

[If we hadn't hat a damned television in our room then perhaps we actually would have went out and did something.]
[Today's grade: C+, we went to see Roman Ruins but we also watched part of Weird Science. We didn't like it, but we still watched some of it.]

End of Day 19
Next time: Our journey to Wales where Laura throws up on me!
